Tape It Off The Internet
I'll soon be a beta member at Tape It Off The Internet, which is a new website aimed at users who want to download the latest television episodes from around the globe. I'm fairly sure it's going to use BitTorrent for this. Here's a bit more information about it.
Television, drug of the nation, pacifier par excellence, we love you. Except you never quite have the things we want when we want them. Thankfully, the gods of filesharing and encoding have delivered us from despair and we are all happily enjoying shows pretty close to transmission times, and in some countries that can be a difference of years. Segmented, territorial world of TV meet flattened global world of the internet - we're sure you'll get along. Eventually.
So, fire me an email if you want to join up. It's a limited beta right now and I have five invites to share.
